Lt. Colonel Maes Hughes: Take Two!
As much as I like his casual wear, I put him in his uniform this time around. Because, you know, there’s something about a man in uniform… Anyway, I also thought I would be silly and draw in a picture of his daughter since he’s almost always waving one around in the series anyway. Ah, he’s such a family guy. How cute. ^_^ --- Sketched and finished in Photoshop with no references. I’m so much happier with this one. To repeat what I said before: Hughes is a pretty difficult subject to paint in a realistic style. But this time, I made it a point to NOT look at pictures from the anime or manga.
